Yoshio Kubo, designer of "yoshiokubo" and "muller of yoshiokubo," gave a presentation on the theme of "Different Dimension" at the Togo Memorial Hall in Harajuku, Tokyo on March 17th during Rakuten Fashion Week.
Eight dresses based on the theme of "squid climbing," the theme of yoshiokubo's 2022/2023 Autumn/Winter collection, were created exclusively for this occasion. With "wind and fabric" as the underlying theme, this presentation attempts to sublimate the relationship between "wind," the flow of air, and "fabric," which receives it, into optimal beauty through trial and error.
Yoshio Kubo's comment: "I tried to collect various winds, let them flow, flutter, and rotate them... I repeated this process over and over again. Perhaps the wind, which is invisible to the eye, can be "seen" through a dress that never shows the same expression for even a second. This is my challenge to design my own wind through dress making."
To allow as many people as possible to see this presentation, we will be holding an exhibition open to the public on the following dates. Please come and see the showpieces created for the collection in the near future.
