Hello. It's been quite a while since the announcement of yoshiokubo SPRING/SUMMER 2022 , and yoshiokubo's spring/summer items are starting to appear in our wholesale stores and on our website. So, this time I'd like to pick out some of my favorite items from this spring/summer collection and introduce the special features of each. In reality, it would be best to come to the store and touch and feel the items for yourself, but for now I'd like to express them in words.
First up is a sweatshirt I call the "Circle Sweat Top." It's a top that uses the complex cutouts that I used to make, which have become my signature, but in a different material.
The most distinctive feature is the transition from the armhole to the sleeve. The parts of a sweatshirt where the shoulders and arms join are called "seams," but this one ignores that and just arbitrarily cuts the edges with curves. This is extremely difficult and makes the factory cry. Above all, it's a costly technique.
The material of the transition area has also been changed, and the different textures work well together. There are 5-6cm zippers on both sides of the front, so you can enjoy changing the silhouette. I generally don't like the ribbing of sweatshirts being too tight.
The back is a little longer, so it looks different when viewed from the front and the side. It's like a mod parka. You could say that this season's collection is one of the things that embodied my desire to "create something that doesn't exist in the world."
This is another sweatshirt. The "Oval Pocket Sweat Top" looks plain at first glance, and you might think, "Oh, there's something on the chest," but that's not the case.
To be precise, it's a sweatshirt, but it's made of stretch jersey with no terry lining. It has the shape of a sweatshirt, but I came across it when I was looking for a material that didn't look like a sweatshirt. 100% cotton sweatshirts have their merits, but this time I wanted a material that would never fade, and this is the material I finally found.
It's made of 100% polyester, but it feels very nice against the skin. These days, polyester is very useful because it can be used to express anything. The overall design is oversized, which is very trendy. The chest pocket has a contrasting design. It's hard to see in the photo, but the contrasting design is quite complex, and it's up to the viewer to decide whether it extends deep into the fabric or expands outwards. The three-dimensional design is impressive.
The last item on the list is the "Cotton Wide Pants." This is a yoshiokubo staple. The fact that it has become a staple means that it has been popular for a long time. It is released every time with minor changes such as changing the material.
This time I was looking for something fluffy like the fabric of a hot air balloon, and I found a great one. The texture of the material really stands out when you wear it.
The most distinctive feature is the large tucks that create an interesting silhouette. Large tucks mean folding, so a lot of fabric is used. This allows the fabric to absorb air and expand as you move. Another distinctive feature is that the tucks are placed diagonally, allowing for a wide range of motion. When you move and the tucks expand, it creates an interesting silhouette, so these are not just wide pants. Please give them a try.
