Hello, I'm Yoshio Kubo, a designer. Thank you for your continued patronage.
This website was launched three years ago, and I have now decided to add a news page as a new piece of content. With the COVID-19 pandemic causing a major shift in people's values, I felt compelled to do something.
I've been running the brand for over 10 years now, and until now, the staff at the select shops I wholesale to across the country have acted as "evangelists" for the brand "yoshiokubo," conveying my thoughts and commitment to the products on my behalf. That will continue to be the case, but I've also started to feel a strong desire to directly communicate about myself, my collections, and my work as a designer to customers.

The designer's desire to "pursue never-before-seen patterns and details" is reflected in his collections, making full use of the techniques he developed during his time in couture. Furthermore, his collections are not self-indulgent, but rather based on his desire to make people who wear his clothes "rethink the design and details of clothing." Based on high-quality patterns and meticulous sewing techniques, he consistently proposes comfortable everyday clothing that emphasizes functionality as clothing.
In a nutshell, this is the brand concept of "yoshiokubo." However, I will be talking about how I actually design and make clothes, writing about it on my blog, and interviewing people to write about it in text form. I hope that you will gain a deeper understanding of the ideas going through my head and their connection to Japanese culture, which has recently sparked my interest.
The way I make clothes cannot be conveyed through two-dimensional photographs alone. You can only truly feel their value when you actually touch them and try them on. In that sense, it's best to visit the shops that I sell them to, but I also have a light-hearted stance that as a supplement to that, I would encourage you to take a look at the NEWS page.
I will be sharing in depth the rarely talked about aspects of who we are as designers and the real stories behind our creations. By doing so, I hope that when you wear "yoshiokubo," you will have a slightly different experience than before.
Thank you very much for your cooperation.
