Hello, this is Kubo. Did you all see the yoshiokubo Spring/Summer 2023 collection that was unveiled online the other day? Once again, we were able to present a unique collection with an elaborate presentation.
The impressive dome is a gigantic cylinder measuring 3 meters by 10 meters. It is made of thin fabric that is almost transparent, and air is pumped in to keep it stable. Although the staff were familiar with it after experiencing it for the previous collection , it was not easy given its size.
The inspiration came from a scene in the movie "The Last Emperor" where the emperor was playing and jumping around on a seat as a child. I wanted to express that feeling in a different way.
The wall behind the models was chosen to match the main color of the items. Did you notice? In terms of color, we used many brown models, which made the color pop. The overall image was well-balanced, and I think it really highlighted the collection itself. The elaborate headpieces that are always used are also impressive.
I don't know if you've noticed this in the collection, but I also use a motif as an accent that makes use of the principle of the flashcards we used to use when studying. You trace the inside of a textbook with a marker, and then cover it with a green or red sheet so it becomes invisible.
It's fun to layer them together to make the image appear in focus or blurred, and for example, you can change the expression of the lion in the background. It's hard to explain in words, so when you see it in stores, be sure to try it out for yourself.
See you next week.
