Hello, this is Kubo. Next Monday is Valentine's Day, right? So today I'd like to introduce a few unique items from the "yoshiokubo" collection that would make perfect gifts. Men, this is your chance to ask your partner for a gift!
My collections have become simpler recently, so I've started paying more attention to fabrics (textiles). Among them, I would like to recommend some accessories made with textiles from some of my favorite, incredibly creative fabric stores.
These hats and drawstring bags are made from fabric by the Italian company "Magicchi." Magicchi was originally a company that sold military fabrics, so naturally, the products have a variety of functions, but they also have a wide range of designs, colors, and patterns that will tickle the creative spirit.
A hat made with retroreflective fabric is entirely made of that fabric, so when light hits it, it reflects a lot. No matter where the light comes from, it reflects it directly back towards the light source, so it's also known as the "friday-proof hat." When a flash goes off, it reflects the light back directly. If you were wearing this, the photos you took would be blown out.
Retroreflective fabric is a fabric made by applying a pigment (powder used for coloring) to polyester to make it reflective. There are many similar products, but most of them become hard and prone to cracking (because they are applied to the surface). However, this product is smooth and does not crack, so it can be used like a normal fabric. At first glance, it looks normal, but the dual nature of it, which changes depending on the environment, is what really appeals to me.
There is also the same hat made with a different fabric. It's made by the same company, but not only does it have the surface texture of "ripstop" (a fabric with a grid-like weave pattern, made by sewing thick nylon in a grid pattern between thin fibers of cotton or polyester), which I like, but this fabric also changes color when heated. If you press the surface with your finger, that area becomes whitish. Even if the color changes, it quickly returns to its original color. Both the retroreflective fabric and the color-changing ripstop are very expensive, but I thought it would be interesting so I tried it.
Drawstring pouches are a long-standing and popular staple item. This time, we added a film design as an accent.
The theme is "Warrior Monk," so I incorporated a little text about it into the design. The film accents the fabric, and I've used it on other items, such as the chest of a T-shirt. This fabric also changes color when heated.
What do you think? All of them are in the 9,000 to 10,000 yen price range, but they are also great conversation pieces. Why not try them as an unusual gift, or as an item that you would hesitate to buy yourself but would be happy to receive as a gift, saying "This is great!"
The weather looks unstable today and tomorrow, so please come online .
Orders placed after 10:00 AM on Friday, February 10, 2022 will be shipped sequentially from Monday, February 14. Please note that orders will not arrive on Valentine's Day, Monday, February 14.
