The "RV FUZZY FLOWER VEST" is a piece made with original printed fabric, a key feature of this season, while the "RV CROSS LINE VEST" is a piece that makes extensive use of laser cutting technology, a highly recommended technique of this season.
So, what do I want to talk about here? First, let's talk about the design.
I always say, "I don't want to carry a bag. I want to be hands-free," and I've released a lot of clothes with lots of pockets up until now. Naturally, this idea is reflected in this vest, and I designed it with the common idea of "clothing that allows you to wear your belongings and move around. It achieves the ultimate hands-free lifestyle."
Both jackets are reversible, and the pockets are located in the same place on the inside and outside no matter which side is facing out, making them highly functional. In other words, the inside pockets are located in the same place as the outside pockets.
What's more, the pockets are made of mesh material, which gives them some flexibility and allows you to fit a wallet, smartphone, tablet, paperback book, and other items in the same amount as a small bag. At this point, it might actually feel like you're wearing the bag.
Next, let's look at how each looks.
The "RV FUZZY FLOWER VEST" is reversible, with one side featuring an original print and the other a vibrant red inspired by lifeguards. The print, which was created from a moment when "I happened to see flowers through condensation-covered glass when I stopped by a flower shop one night," drew a great response at the exhibition, with people saying it was "artistic and eye-catching."
We also make shirts using the same printed fabric, but when you wear this vest with the print side facing out, there is a mesh pocket that goes all the way around the bottom, giving it a sense of depth and scenery as if seen through a mesh net.
The "RV CROSS LINE VEST" looks simple at first glance. However, inspired by the "net decorations" of Tanabata (Star Festival) decorations, the body is laser cut to give it a summery feel. I really like how it distorts and expands with various movements. I also like the idea that it becomes complete when worn by someone.
Finishing the edges of fabric is a very careful process in clothing making, but polyester fabric is strong and has little risk of fraying, so it can be left raw with a laser cut. It is placed decoratively on the body, so it is unlikely to tear unless the child is extremely naughty or runs around in the mountains and fields.
Recently, there have been days when the temperature feels neither like winter nor like summer, and when this happens, you find yourself wondering, "What should I wear?" As yoshiokubo, who has been promoting "THINK BEFORE WEAR" since the launch of the brand, this has been something to ponder.
