It's been a while since it went on sale, but today I'd like to talk about the Flatfish Pouch.
As the name "Flounder" suggests, this pouch is extremely thin, so if you just look at the product image you might think, "Can it really hold anything?", but I actually use it a lot.
Recently, it has become a necessity not only when traveling overseas on business trips, but also when snowboarding.
So why would you need this when traveling?
I'm usually the type to travel empty-handed, but I'm a bit of a worrier, so when I travel abroad, I want to make sure I have my passport close to me at all times. This is especially true when I travel abroad with my family, as I have to take care of all the passports for my family, which is a huge responsibility.
However, as a fashion designer, I absolutely want to avoid the typical waist pouches that create a bulging waistline. Also, I don't like the idea of a waist pouch getting in the way when I sit down while traveling, like on an airplane.
Not only does it look good, but it also feels oppressive.
Based on this experience, we created the "Flatfish Pouch" as a smart waist pouch that doesn't interfere with fashion.
The waterproof material makes it resistant to rain, and the band is made of rubber, so it fits snugly to your body and doesn't slip even when you're jumping, bouncing, or running, which is a very important point.
It's extremely thin and has no gusset, but despite its appearance, it can still hold a smartphone, AirPods, keys, etc., and the small compartment is perfect for storing coins or lip balm.
That's why I find it extremely useful when snowboarding.

If you imagine using it in everyday situations, for example, it would make a great fashion item if attached to a technical blouson full of gimmicks, or it could be worn over a T-shirt for a nice browsing look.
The pouch can be worn around the waist and hidden under a long-sleeved T-shirt without being noticeable, so you can store valuables that you want to keep close to you without them interfering with your outfit.
I also think it can be used in situations where you want to be empty-handed but can't, such as at festivals, watching sports, running, or enjoying winter sports.
It's basically an external pocket.

If you think of it as an external pocket, depending on the user's lifestyle, it may be possible to use it in a variety of situations other than what I have in mind.
The "Flatfish Pouch" is an item we'd love to know how people who have purchased it have found use for.
If you have picked up one and are using it, we would be grateful if you could post a photo of it on Instagram using the tags #yoshiokubo #flounderpouch.
