JELLO SHOES
-Why did you choose JELLO SHOES?
This is because it allows you to create a summer-inspired outfit.
-What's the first point?
The upper is a combination of two materials: suede and smooth leather.
This may be a bit of a geeky topic, but tanning is an essential process when turning leather into products. The smooth leather on the side of the upper, with its eye-catching wave pattern, is also tanned, but this time, chrome tanning is used to increase strength, durability, and flexibility.
By combining suede and smooth leather, and further chrome-tanning the smooth leather, the shoes become softer the more you wear them, allowing you to enjoy the changes that occur over time.
-What's the second point?
JELLO SHOES features a design that evokes the 24SS season theme, "Kondaku - Layers of swaying, refreshing clothing." The rippling water surface and details that look like they've been dipped in water are expressed through the use of resin processing.
The exquisite transparency that allows the leather to show through and the unique texture are achieved by mixing multiple resins in an exquisite mixture. It takes a full day for this resin to harden, and when you consider the drying process that must be done to minimize the inclusion of air bubbles and dust... you can imagine that this is an incredibly nerve-wracking process.
When I saw the finished product, I was amazed at how well the factory had managed to produce such a product using such complex techniques. (laughs)
-What are the key points in terms of practicality?
There are three advantages: they are durable, as mentioned in the first point, the soles are completely covered in resin, so they protect from light rain, and the soles are highly cushioned, so they are comfortable to wear for long periods of time.
-What are the key points to wearing it?
The design is eye-catching with its smooth texture, so you can complete your outfit by simply incorporating it into a simple outfit. As the daytime temperatures continue to rise, more people will likely be wearing shorts, so it's a great way to add an accent to your feet.
